On September 22nd of 2015,A 23-years old IIT Madras student committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling in his hostel room on Monday. On Monday, A student of Indian Institute of Technology- Madras committed suicide in his hostel room. he is doing this for not clearing his GATE Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
Details of the student came to known that his name is N Narendra Kumar Reddy (23) is the son of the Narayana Kumar who is pursuing his Master’s degree in the IIT Madras in Civil Engineering, and he is of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh and an M Tech second-year student has taken this step after returning from his native village. He was studying on a sponsorship offered by a private construction firm at Manapakkam here.
Information came to be known that kumar has went to meet his parents during the Vinayagar Chathurthi festival last week and returned on Monday morning tp the hostel room and had not come out of his room for lunch and dinner in the hostel on the Monday His friends, who peeped into his room through the window, found his body hanging from the ceiling fan and informed the police.
Police said that the exact reason for his death was not known and No suicide note had been found in the room and seized his laptop.
According to the Police officials, “He ( N Narendra Kumar Reddy ) was hanged from ceiling fan using bedspread of room, After watching this incident in the morning his friends while he absence in lunch and dinner went to management and security officers of the campus and informed them
IIT Madras director Bhaskar Ramamurthi said that the police are investigating the death, and the institute is cooperating with the police in its investigation. We have no indication of the reason for death. The student’s parents have been notified.
