Facebook has started rolling out Instant Articles to Android users in India with IndianExpress.com and four others publishers. The 3.3 million followers of The Indian Express Facebook page will now see multimedia-rich posts, which have been optimised for mobile users and will open in an instant, even on 2G networks. We at FB are really excited to be rolling out Instant article in India on Monday. We are working with the publisher ecosystem that is varied and are excited to see how this product will resonate with people on Facebook and publishers in India, said Andy Mitchel, Director, News and Global Media Partnerships, Facebook.
Flash!! On Android Facebook Rolls Out Instant Articles In India:-
Instant Articles are simply articles already in your Facebook News Feed, made faster and richer. Users will see a lightning bolt on the top right corner of some stories shared in News Feed. The lightning bolt indicates it is an Instant Article. When you tap the story, it will load 10 times faster than a standard mobile web article, the company said in a statement.
Facebook promises within the articles themselves, a suite of interactive features that allow publishers to bring their stories to life in new ways. Zoom in and explore high-resolution photos by tilting your phone. Watch auto-play videos come alive as you scroll through stories. Explore interactive maps, listen to audio captions, and even like and comment on individual parts of an article in-line.
The plan is to be available to all publishers and for them come onboard and therefore we have a lot of work to do now in order to have more publishers join and scale and build a platform for the publishing ecosystem.
